Fighting Back

A few weeks ago I was at the chiropractor and heard this song- I didn't know who it was so I pulled out my phone and used the Shazam app to find out.  I felt like I was listening to my heart being put to words by this young lady.  Everything started to fall into place, in the midst of great turmoil in my heart and the biggest thing I realized was that I was letting myself go.  Since December I have had two rounds of strep and something else going on (which I need to get figured out asap) but when I sat down and looked at it- I realized that it had been months since I had truly exercised.  I was miserable- I am miserable- I feel miserable- it was time.  So- what have I done since then?

  • Visited our school corporation wellness coach- I know I studied this and could probably do it on my own- but I haven't in 3 1/2 years.  I needed the accountability.
  • Ran twice and signed up for a free 30 day trial of Beachbody on demand (and if I find I use it I will extend it because for three months it's cheaper than one month at the gym.
  • Made a simple goal to exercise a minimum of 2 days per week for now and to create a list of things to do to keep me from stress eating.
  • Going to sign up for 2 April 5k's.
Not a lot- but it's a step- for me- if I am going to succeed on this journey then I have to take the baby steps.  


(and I know this isn't long but I wanted to make an effort to blog this video and the thoughts that have been running through my head the last two weeks.  I have a few more rattling around)
